at my sister in laws, She'd done a gammon joint in her slow cooker with Diet coke for the liquid, the taste was absolutely divine, I have often done diet coke with chicken but never with ham, it was so tender it melted in the mouth

Cottage core is the big thing now, bit over the top for me, I prefer the Nordic type kitchens, so simple & chic. Islands are really out now - people are replacing them with wooden kitchen tables like in the 1990's

I watch interiors/design programs and some people go OTT with grey. It's the new neutral...but then I read its going out of style.
I've got a tiny ...old...and odd shaped kitchen. I just repainted everything...walls and cabinets...in a pale, watery aquamarine. Makes it look a bit bigger, and the odd bits blur together. I can't fit a big fridge...unless I were to knock out a small cupboard and work surface that's in a kind of alcove.
Large kitchens always sound glorious...enjoys yours Lcg.

Thanks Pasta. The guy at the kitchen place last week told me grey was as popular as ever, and dark blue is becoming more and more popular. Gloss is becoming less fashionable and I must admit since we first had a kitchen drawn up before the first lockdown we've gone off the gloss look. I definitely haven't gone off the grey though, with the brick and industrial style lighting and the feature blue wall it's a look that suits both our tastes. The dining area which features the brick wall will continue the industrial theme with the table, bench and chairs and lighting and so on.

This house has a very similar kitchen concept to what we're having. Our layout is slightly different but the concept is similar (with grey kitchen cupboard).

Bobbi, put a sink in an island and that means the drain is going to go under your very expensive new floor. Problem with the drain would be costly and inconvenient.
I firmly believe that any fixed sink, toilet, shower etc or water using appliance such as a washing machine should be set against an outside wall.
