1. Go to Sainsbury's (other suppliers are available)
2. Proceed to "tinned vegetables" aisle.
3. Select tin of pease pudding (small and large tins should be available).
4. Pay for goods at checkout and return home.
5. Open tin and empty contents into a microwaveable vessel. Add nutmeg if desired. Or not.
6. Heat in microwave for a few minutes.
7. Serve and enjoy.
Even under lockdown, life is too short to faff about making pease pudding. :-)

My nana used to get a bacon hock ( you can still get them in Morrisons) , soaked for a few hours to remove excess salt. Then cover with water, boil it up with a bay leaf and plenty of pepper for at least 2 hours. Take out the bacon hock and take all the meat off and return the large bones to the pan. Add the yellow split peas - probably around a 1lb bag bring to the boil and simmer until they were mushy. Remove the bone(s) and put pease pudding in a glass bowl until cold.
We never ever had it hot, and becasue of the bone stock it would set solid. She would use the bacon from the hock in sandwiches with plenty of Pease Pudding.
