I added a teaspoon to a lentil stew I was making. They didn't make much difference to the taste. Thought that may have been because of fading taste buds.
Do ground seeds lose their flavour quicker than whole ones?

I use ground cumin and I have never noticed any deterioration in the taste, even after several months.
Are the out of date? Although not harmful they do start to lose their flavour.
I’d add quite a bit more than a teaspoon to a lentil stew to be honest, was that how much the recipe called for?
Sorry, should have said,I use ground cumin too.
