Does anyone know of any first class Indian restaurants in north London? I have been to a few that are perfectly acceptable, but I still haven't found one that's really outstanding.

Well, I can't say it was outstanding but a really good meal. From Marylebone road go down marylebone highstreet and turn either first or second right, and the restaurant is on the left along the street. Class meal!

I love Shahbhag in Hampstead - always great food and service. Their menu is on their website - http://www.shahbhag.co.uk/

I dont know London but when we went there not too long ago we visited the Ravi Shankar in Drummond St., if you ever have the opportunity of starving to death or eating at this s*it*ol* take my advice and starve to death.

coyn, I am still snorting with laughter! Thanks for the warning!

The "Day of the Raj" in the Broadway in Mill Hill is very nice - I was taken for a meal there about 10 years ago - and have never forgotten it.

If you want to go North of London - the Moonlight in Staple Tye in Harlow is very good.

Harriet, you got there before me,!It is 21 years since I lived in London, but the Shahbag was always our favourite. WebChris, you must tryit and I will be very surprised if you don't rate it highly.
Try The New Arjun in New Southgate. I used to go there all the time, when I lived there, I now travel there once a year, as it is very good.
