I agree. When I was a young lad I used to like going to a Wimpy. I remember the transaparent cups and saucers.
Two plain hamburgers, large fries and diet coke. Why not a quarter pounder I hear you ask - well I am allergic to cheese and try as I might I just cannot get McDonalds staff to understand that I want a PLAIN quarterpounder - no cheese - no relish - no sauce - yet every time when I check my order as I am leaving I have to go back and wait for a plain one to be cooked. However if I order two plain hamburgers I get what I want! Even happened at the northern most McDonalds (as it was then) in Rovaniemi in Finland.
I don't go in very often as I like KFC for lunch, but if I haven't had time for brekkie I like the burrito thingies. I reckon their coffee is better than costa .
//Never been to McDonald's//

I can't lay claim to that. I have one conveniently located between the bus stop and home. When I return from a bite to drink in London I sometimes need the facilities before I make the final schlep to my house. Very nice loos, clean and tidy. Hardly surprising really because nobody ever enters the place. It's a drive through and people either eat the stuff in their cars (do you get tuppence off if you take the stuff away?) or they get an Albanian to deliver it on the back of a motor scooter.

I went to one once many years ago. I wanted a burger with nothing on it (no relish etc.) "You'll have to wait" the unpleasant assistant barked at me me. "No problem. I'm in no hurry." "Stand over there" I was instructed. After I'd waited in the corner for all of 45 seconds a burger, cooked to my individual specifications, was handed to me in a polystyrene box. I took one bite and threw the whole lot in the bin. I regret that to this day as I was quite hungry (why else would I go in there) and if I had thought about my plight I might have tried the polystyrene box. I could have started a whole new fashion. Not been in one since.
Don't go to McDonals, but when my grandkids do they always bring me back a Cadbury's McFlurry. My secret vice!
Wimpys still exist. We have one in my town. I went in ours only about a couple of weeks ago. table service too!Its very good
Last time I had a big Mac, I ended up a right mess with most of the burger down my top!!

Great news! 69 locations in the UK & one only 10 miles from me. See you there!
McDonald's do nice coffee.

Indeed they do. One opened in my High Street just before lockdown v1.0. I though they may not survive, but they did.

Anyone for Flapjacks or a Brown Derby?
I had a Burger King a while ago, as it was the only place I could find in mid-lockdown, and it was awful. I offered it to a hungry-looking tramp, with all the barely cooked fries, and he was happy enough with them; it's true about beggars not being choosers.

In the past I've found McDonald's rather better, though again only if there's nobody else. I used to love Wendy's, though.
In Scotland we're spoiled for choice with Wimpy, three for the whole country.

When I were a lad we had one in our wee toon.
Milk shake. Ice cream. No food.
Never go there. I wonder why people frequent such establishments.

I think it's to eat?
I love a double cheeseburger, large fries and a banana milkshake. Treat myself now and again !
Haven’t been for years, but it used to be a quarter pounder, fries and strawberry milkshake. I’d probably have a Diet Coke now though.
I do like their Bacon and Egg Mcmuffin breakfasts. I don't eat them anymore as I'm diabetic, but they do taste good.
You know what I meant davebro. I wondered why they tolerate such rubbish being put into their stomachs. But horses for courses I guess. Please don’t state the obvious.
Anne A has a good point, the ice creams (McFlurries, I believe there called) are really good. Also partial to the chocolate milkshakes, which are so thick, they're virtually ice creams themselves.
