Hi, my wife and her newly seperated friend are out on a night out tomorrow around manchester lashing it big. They both have asked me what would they be best eating PRIOR to going out, like a couple of hours before, to make sure that it helps them go the distance. So has anyone got any tried and tested ideas??

Bread or something starchy, and drink milk. They could try milk thistle as well - supposed to help the liver or something? Avoid anything too spicy or greasy, but anything is better than drinking on an empty stomach.

Top hangover tip: drink AT LEAST a pint of water before going to bed - really really helps.
I usually have a big bowl of pasta if I'm going on a bender. Seems to work, especially with a pint of water and paracetomal before collapsing in bed.
Porridge. Marvellous stuff.
Hi i-go. What did they eat and did it work? I need to know, as I've got my works do on Tuesday.
tbh if my gf was out on the town with a recently separted friend i'd convince them that plenty of onions and garlic would do the trick. but seriously, as above porridge, pasta all slow-releasing energy foods and plenty of water -not just b4 bed but also during the night. Dehydration is the biggest cause of hangover.

Carrots - definitely.

Then when you are violently sick later it won't be a mystery where the diced ones came from.

this may be a little late but something high in carbs and protein will keep them dancing and drinking to the wee hours!!!
