mateus rose
if you have a Co-op near you i would recommend White Cloud, 4.99 a bottle, and lovely, the only wine i can drink without grimacing!
Blossom Hill is a Californian that goes well on a budget :-)

If you really mean sweet, nothing mentioned so far remotely comes anywhere near it.

Sauternes is the traditional sweet wine and larger supermarkets should certainly have it. Remember it's a dessert wine - you wouldn't want to drink it with a meal.

If you mean 'not dry' rather than sweet, most of the German whites (Piesporter. liebfraumilch. hock) are OK and don't deserve their naff reputation.

Do you have a local Asda? If so i would try the Le Soleil Medium Sweet Perry. Its a boxed wine and i cant remember the price but i know its cheap. I am much more of a dry wine drinker but my sister who is a sweet wine drinker always makes sure she can lay her hands on this one!

I would recommend a Rose, White Grenache or White Zinfandel (Zinfandel is sweeter) by Blossom Hill or Gallo.

Not very classy but sweet/medium wine drinkers love it!

Sainsbury's Anjou. Costs about 3 and the taste never changes. The only white I would ever drink.
