I have used this recipe for the last 3 years.
I hate chutney but himself and his friends seem to enjoy it

Thanks, Redhelen; Gosh you are a saint making chutney for three years for himself, when you don't like it.
I have used this recipe by Nigel Slater which uses a mixture of green and ripe cherry tomatoes. It has always worked out well.

Lol nothing saintly about it - I have loads of green toms and I give a load away to his friends whose wife makes the most amazing tablet!!
So I get to cook which I enjoy and I get tablet - which I love

But never ever put vanilla in it!!!! Yuckity yuck yuck
I am back off to the homeland in November so will stock up then as well
I agree with not using vanilla. My father used to make it - it was the only thing I think I ever saw him make.
