Lingot Beans

Does anyone know where I can buy jarred/canned/bagged Lingot Beans in the UK please (not abroad). Also please no 'alternative' bean suggestions, or lingot beans already cooked in something else.

Just the beans.

Aren't lingot beans the same as haricot beans? Jars and tins of haricot beans are available in all supermarkets.

Are they not white kidney beans or cannellini beans. Try Waitrose

Thanks Tigger , no - they are different. Haricot are used (example) in heinz beans in tom sauce and are quite small. Lingot are much larger

Given what you’re going to make with them, if you can’t get hold of any I’d use a mixture of cannellini beans and butter beans. I honestly don’t think it would make much/any difference.

I'm not sure whether or not my suggestion qualifies as an 'alternative' (which I know that you don't want) or not.

That's because a bit of googling suggests that cannellini beans are either exactly the same as lingot beans (in which case they're what you want anyway) or at least that lingot beans are a specific type of cannellini beans (in which case 'ordinary' cannellini beans then only become an 'alternative').

Either way though, have you tried cannellini beans in your recipes?
