Funny you say that, Redhelen. The other night I watched an old video of Robert Mitchum and he said he had an enormous capacity for alcohol and never thought he had a drink problem. He talked of an occasion in Ireland, drinking with Richard Harris who was definitely the worse for wear. Mitchum ended up throwing him into a cab to get him out of trouble and back home.
Like choux, I had nothing to give up.
I don't feel virtuous. I had my fair share in my youth and it slowly crept down. I realise now that I prefer water.
I didn't drink at home during January, but had drinks when I went out for a couple of meals. I'm just going to add 2 days to the month. Weight-wise, it's made absolutely no difference.
Glad you enjoy it ymb, must make all the wort worthwhile ;)
Well done rowan and Blubster. Not a bad effort by Arrods either. Not having been anywhere since goodness knows when I have forgotten about drinking out and about. But then I would be the nominated driver anyway...
I used to enjoy a drink or two, occasionally but have lost all patience with those who cannot manage their alcohol - some of whom appear to go drinking with the sole purpose of getting hammered. As for those who drive the morning after a skinful and are still under the influence - I hope the police have occasion to stop and check their breath.
