Advice Please, Stroganoff

My grandson wants to cook a beef stroganoff for his mother. The recipe needs beef stock but he won't be making his own.

a He wants a quick solution such as a stock cube or stock pot. 

Would either do, or can you suggest something else?

Stroganoff uses pricier cuts of beef and I wouldn't "cheapen" it in any way. Use a pouch of fresh chilled beefstock...or a can of beef consomme.

Supermarkets sell stock in pots these days.

 

Did you know that you can't use beefstew as a password ? Apparently it's not stroganoff !
