could anyone suggest a suitable (if any) red wine that a diabetic can have. thank you.

As long as the usual guidelines for consuming alcohol are observed, diabetics can drink ANY red wine. See the Diabetes UK website for further information:

to chris, thanks for the red wine info.
If you pop into your supermarket, all wines are coded---dry-to--sweet, both Red & White, white usually 0-6, Red A-E, 0 & A being the driest--i.e. least sugar.
