Toasted Sanwiches

I've noticed that the office has recently required a new sandwich toaster, and it's got me excited (work's not interesting at the moment, okay!)because I haven't used one since my university days. Back then it was just wall to wall cheese, and if I was feeling flush, maybe a slice of tomato, but there must be some great things that you can put inside them. Has anyone got any good suggestions?

To my mind you can't beat a baked bean toastie. just spoon some beans onto the bread. possibly spread some marmite on one side and grate some cheese in if you're feeling flush

Amazing Lordie Geordie... that is my No 1 filling for a toastie - Cheese, Beans and Marmite.. Although everyone I know think that it is vile !!

crack an egg on the bottom slice .cover with the top slice ,slowly lower the top plate and toast,it is a sort of cross between a fried egg sandwich and french toast

another one i like is this one spread the inside of the bread with tomato puree, a sprinkle of italian herbs,cheese,pepperoni and sliced black olives,a sort of inside out pizza

For a while, when I was a student, I lived off Red Leicester and mayonnaise toasties. You put most of the cheese around the edge and then put a big dollop of mayo in the middle. The mayo sort of congeals into the cheese a bit. I doubt if it's very good for you but I loved them.

sliced turkey and beans (warm the beans abit first)
