Hot dogs and buns

Do hot dogs come in tins of 8 but buns come in packets of 6 or 12

Ah... one of the great mysteries... for which I have no answer other than the cynical observation that the manufacturers of both are in colusion to urge you to buy more of each... (you'd have to buy three packages of 8 hot dogs and two packages of 12 buns to make it come out... get the idea?)

good point above but I believe that they come in tins of 8 because they are so floppy and difficult to get a grip on when putting them in your buns that you are likely to lose 2 of them in the process! - by having 8 in a tin you are hopefully guaranteed to fill your 6 buns without accidents!?
