For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The only reson canned food has a sell by date, is so you can't sue the canner for having had food poisoning 20 years after it was produced. They are just covering their behinds. Food will only go off if there is air in the can, so assuming it stays airtight, it should stay fresh for ages. I used to eat tins that were at least 2 years out of date.
