I have been looking for a recipe for this dessert for years ~ I ate it in a restaurant once, & would love to sample it again :o)

I know it contains vanilla, cream, chocolate & some kind of alcohol..but that's all I know!

Can't think of a reference to a 'Monte Cristo' dessert, only a sandwich which is like a croque monsieur. Chef might have come from there?

Thank you ~ maybe I can improvise with those :o) as you suggest, I reckon it must have been his own recipe..therefore top secret!

Cheers very muchly.

Hi pippa68 - glad to help.

Also have a look at the souffle recipes in cooks.com http://www.cooks.com/ as they have a few with gran marnier, etc that you could also adapt - vanilla essence, cocoa etc til you get the result you want.
