  • Handling raw chicken & not washing your hands and utensils immediately afterwards.

  • Not having separate chopping boards for meat & vegetables.

  • Leaving cooked food to cool too long, especially in hot weather before putting in the fridge.

  • Having ice in your drinks when you don't know its origin, especially abroad.

  • Eating unwashed fruit, especially in hot countries which have been on market stalls with flies crawling all over them.

  • Not washing your hands after visiting the loo, or eating peanuts from a bar which men have delved into without washing their hands after visiting the loo.

  • Eating dodgy shellfish, (prawns, mussels, etc). which are not absolutely fresh.

  • Not keep raw meat separate from everything else in the fridge.

I got food poisoning last November and lost 10 pounds in weight in about 12 hours! Being sick and having the runs is not fun but i loved the fact i lost weight, been trying to get food poisoning again ever since!!
Try a dodgy kebab even when there fresh if they ever are will sort you out. Food poisioning is my worst nightmare. Can i just ask something though wendy said handling chicken raw and not washing your hands is every raw meat the same if not why especially chicken?

I wasn't aware that all men's toilets didn't have washbasins, and that all women make the effort to wash their hands after using the toilet.

Eating leftover rice is the sure of getting food poisoning. Rice starts to grow a poisonous fungus once it has been cooked and the longer you leave it the more poisonous it becomes.
Am not sure whether handling any kind of raw meat is any less dangerous than handling raw chicken. I suspect they can all be equally hazardous and wouldn't take the risk. Food poisoning can make you feel so ill that it's not worth it.
