Not as delicious as I remembered them, very 'unbloody' and sharp. Sainsbury put a lovely picture on the packaging of an orange cut in half and showing a ruby red interior. However, they also put a disclaimer (very sneaky, this) on the reverse of the label stating 'colour may vary from that shown'. Mine certainly did.
Hi Wendys, I know what you mean about blood oranges, I think the juicing companies are nicking them all..... I found this site though and it looks like we'll have to grow the trees ourselves : )

Wendys - have to brag on this one - had a lovely one (from a pal who is a member of Slow Food and had friends return from Italy) a couple of days ago that was brought fresh from Sicily where they are just getting to harvest some now.
Suggest try a decent deli that offers fresh fruit /veg as well - one near me makes regular trips to buy fresh stock that is in season so is about as fresh as can be expected and certainly better than the stuff from supermarkets - knobbly huge lemons, sweet tomatoes, real beans - who needs to live abroad then?
