GOLDEN SYRUP...and perhaps treacle too!

now, this has been keeping me awake nights so I hope someone can help me out here........

It occurred to me the other day while weighing out some golden syrup to make some yummee oatie biccies.......when I use a spoon to transport it from the tin to the weighing scales, at what point during the syrup actually falling from the spoon into the receptacle does the weight transfer from the spoon to the receptacle..........mmmmmmm

I'm not sure of the answer to this but I do know you need to get out more! Further, surely this goes for everything that is being weighed too - not just Golden Syrup??!

I dont think that it does apply to everything.......flour.....spoon it into receptacle and of course the weight is contained in the receptacle. With syrup .....as it descends from the spoon to the weighing receptacle it is still attached to both places......hence my question,....albeit tongue in cheek

and as a PS........I do get out quite a lot but I have to always remember to sign in when I get back......lol

surelyl life's too short to be weighing golden sypup and any half decent recipe would require tablespoons of said gloop? I for one could certainly not be faffed with srcaping syrup from spoon into weighing receptacle then from receptacle to rest of ingredients? A level tablespoon of golden sypup weighs an ounce I think if that's any use?

forget scales!! use a measuring jug....much easier!!
