Does any one know if either tinned baked beans or spaghetti is part of your 5-a-day fruit and veg? I am sure I read it somewhere, however, when I said it to my fiancee last night, he just laughed at me!! Please someone help me, I had to go and check all of the tins in the shop to try and prove my point, but to no avail!!

There is some debate about beans, but spaghetti definitely is not, due to the fact that there are no veg in it!

but what about the tomato sauce?

Seroiusly though, beans I think are. Look on the can. The supermarket own brands will tell you (Eben if Heinz/HP don't).

You are right - both tinned baked beans and tinned spaghetti counts as part of your 5 a day fruit and veg.

Pasta of course is not fruit or veg but it is canned in a tomato sauce.

Thank you so much you lot, I knew I had read it somewhere before!!! I am now awaiting my apology from the other half for his fits of giggles when I tried telling him about it yesterday!! However, being male, I am sure he will find some loop hole so as not to have too!! lol!! Thanks again.
