Why is it i don't mind buying the supermarkets own brands or value packs but when it comes to baked beans it has to be heinz . Also the same with fishfingers they have to be birdseye ,Any others have to have a particular brand of something ? thanks

Another victim of advertising...! Some years back, Radio Scotland did a 'blind taste test' on several varieties of baked beans. Tesco 'Value' beans were voted best by the panel of 'experts' !!!!

don't normally shop in Morrisons, but nipped in for some bits and bought the beans. Everyone thinks they are similar to, but far better than Heinz, and now we pop in for some beans when passing.

most if not all of the products are made by the same maker.

i work for a company supplying the packaging and all the nut wrappers go to imko or kp but all go to various retailers .........tesco,sainsburys,asda ...ect......

but wether they use lower grade nuts ect .idont know

I'm with you on the beans! My parents tried to get away with all sorts of other brands but I only have to look at them to know they aren't Heinz! I also have to have Heinz ketchup, but other than that I'm not too fussy!

beans have to be heinz as is tom sauce, kiykoman for soy sauce, muller for yoghurt and the cat will only eat iams or anything similary expensive!

I remember my dad buying us Tesco's blue & white striped baked beans for about 9p a can. They were like beans in oil instead of tomato sauce! You get what you pay for in this case!
