In season (not yet I would have thought - August September time?) you should be able to get them from the more upmarket supermarkets.
I bought some from Sainsbury's earlier tis year, they're not thatnic, wa a bit sour. They cost 2 something and prob not in season until sept/ oct.
Suggest you do not buy any at the moment if you do see them - they will be chilled imported things and not all nice - wait til the end of August in the UK for the short season for them to begin and enjoy them fresh and juicy.

Look for them at your local farm shop or farmers' market for the best and freshest.

Use in loads of different recipes as well as just eat them on their own with some fresh cream. Or try with pork stew and peppers, with a firm steamed white fish, make jam or chutney to last to the winter, make a fool or tart, make a crumble . .
I agree with Nickmo - as I usually do on food issues. The Uk grown ones won't be available until end August/early September. Any imported ones currently for sale in the supermarket will probably have been submitted to all kinds of treatment and will probably be pretty tasteless. Fruit stalls in markets and farm shops are the best outlets to find them.
