Because most other nuts - peanuts, almonds, walnuts, etc., you can buy already shelled. But not pistachio nuts. I would like to know why, because I've just eaten a full bag and now my thumbs are really sore.

Scroll down the page a bit - plain and salted pistachios
I remember my boyfriend asking me to get him some energy foods for during a Triathlon "something like nuts & bananas" he said. Without thinking I bought Pistachio nuts!
you can buy them shelled from health food shops both natural and salted
Asda have them shelled in the 'Foods of the World' aisle. Be a lot cheaper than a health food shop !
