Simplest description is minced (ground) beef in a tomato sauce in a roll. US hot sandwich thingy, dribbles when you eat it.

It's also the name for a very baggy crew neck jumper. It fits reasponable well in the neck andf sleeves, but is very baggy and too long - beatniks used to wear them. If you need to ask, you're too young to remember!
