The Earl of Sandwich invented the sandwich, not Napoleon.

If Napoleon had invented it, it would likely be called le baguette.

The hoover ,by the way, wasn't actually invented by Hoover. It was invented by James Murray Spangler.
Spanglers cousin William Henry Hoover bought Spanglers patent in 1908, retained Spangler as a partner and began assembling the machines in the leather goods factory that he owned.
