The furry skin is a deterrent to insects and mites, hopefully.

Additionally, the fuzz seems to protect peaches from sunburn and potential water loss....

i dont know. but my dad made me laugh when he was asking me to pass him a suede apple from the fruit bowl after a short arguement i relised it was a peach he was pointing to .I may not of answerd your question but hope you had a laugh ha ha
