Quite interesting. The food critic who was on thursday made some tomato "tarts" for his starter. Puff pastry rolled out and cut into circles, a thin spread of mustard, about 4 slices of tomatoes and a sprinkling of cheese. baked for 25 mins, they looked awesome.
What other fillings/toppings could you put on top instead of tomatoes ?
Yep i'm cooking today (and usually everyday)...all welcome chez moi !!!
On todays menu.....it's a bit of a mish mash today but i will be doing chicken drumsticks, some marinaded in teriyaki sauce, some with orange marmelade and cooked on the barbeque with.......
Small , crispy roast potatoes cooked with rosemary and garlic,
Like crete, thought it was an invite, or well never mind...
Substitute pesto, for mustard and sprinkle toms with fresh tyme leaves...cheese and chives...cheese and onion...grated potato with onion (similiar to rosti), sprinkled with fav herbs...
Any pizza type toppings will work (it's only the base that would be different)...
For dessert, same pastries but with sliced apple/peach/pear and add ginger/cinnamon/nutmeg or grated coconut/citrus peel/slivered almonds/pine nuts...the list is endless....
I suppose the types of toppings are endless. I quite fancy doing smaller, finger buffet type ones with different toppings.
A single peach slice, a raspberry and a sprinkling of sugar to caramalise it sounds nice. Sweetcorn and tuna, strawberry and orange, peppers, onions and cheese, white stilton with cranberry sauce.....ooooooh the list is endless
