Reckon you'd have to soak them overnight to get some moisture into them. Otherwise they won't cook. Unless you just boil the s@#t out of them? Not sure really...
Even when pulses have been soaked well, they don't cook very well in a microwave, because it takes the moisture out, again. Best to cook them, very slowly, in a proper oven. Just put them in a cookpot and leave them for a few hours...hm, yum, yum! It's well worth the wait.
