Saute Potatos
8 Answers
Probably the easiest thing to do but until you know, it is quite daunting!
Boyfy and I moved into a house share together 6 months ago next week and to 'celebrate' I wanted to cook him a meal but without a table and chair set its quite hard to go fancy so I've decided to go with his favorite - steak and saute potatoes... but for the life of me I have no idea how to make em!!!
Please help!
Thanks in advance

The Big Gill, I think I'm gonna look in Argos or Tesco for a cheap outdoor patio set, they're bound to be loads cheaper/smaller than an indoor set spesh now the weathers turning.

Hi, when I moved into my unfurnished flat we didn't have much money and also needed a dining table. We ended up buying this cheap set. Good value for money, and not much more than a garden set.

Agree with chazza. Cook spuds until they are almost tender. Slice about quarter inch thick. Heat olive oil quite hot and add some garlic (fresh crushed or puree). Cook in a single layers until browned on both sides. Keep warm in oven on kitchen paper until you cook the rest.
Now with pan really hot cook steaks (preferably fillet) to your liking and transfer to warm plate in oven.
Quickly brown finely sliced onions in pan, add chopped mushrooms then red wine and reduce quickly. Serve with veg of your choice.
A "real" prawn cocktail with avocado makes a great starter and I also rub the steaks with garlic and black pepper and allow them to come to room temp before I cook.
Most of this is thanks to Delia - I've used her recipes for years and they always work. http://deliaonline.co.uk
Finish off with some nice cheese and don't forget lots of wine.
Have a great night whatever you cook.
