Tea calming properties

Do all teas have calming properties or just certain types? Or is it a psychological thing and they dont actually calm us down?

Have no idea...but I would recommend Mint tea for anyone who is feeling a bit nauseous or has a dicky tummy, (or and I hasten to add trapped wind!!.) I find that it does the trick, admitedly it is an aquired taste and looks like pond water....but I've grown to like it and often drink it instead of, my usual cuppa..

If it's a psychological thing it works for me....camomile tea however is a different story...it's sposed to help you sleep!!! but quite frankly I'd rather knock myself out that drink it because it's sooo vile...

Peppermint (or mint) tea is quite calming.
You can also buy peppermint oil, which is VERY strong, but a couple of drops of it in hot water makes a calming drink if you have an upset stomach.

As for whether any other herb teas have a calming effect I'm not sure, but at least they don't have caffein in them.
