Hi,
What is it is red wine that causes a headache, sometimes only 30 mins after drinking two glasses. Some reds dont have any adverse affects on me. Which are the best ones to enjoy without the headache?
Cheers

Strangely, I find the higher the AV of the wine, the less likelihood of a headache.

Some wine is just a bit rough. Unfortunately, although its not an absolute, there is some correlation with very young and very cheap wines. As most people have a price bracket they find palatable, why not try adding 1 to the lower end of yours and see if that buys you a headache-free experience.

Happy supping!
Normally down to the type and amount of sulphites used... some, but not all, cheaper reds have some appalling crap added to them!
Its to do with histidine in the skin and stalks of the grapes. If you are sensitive to it then you can get a headache on even an expensive bottle.
