1 lb spaghetti or tagliatelle (really, any type of pasta will do)
1 onion finely chopped
1 tin button mushrooms (from Lidl)
3 tbs. olive oil
2 cloves garlic
3 rashers of bacon
14oz tin of chopped tomatoes
3oz tinned tuna fish
1 tbsp dried Oregano
Heat the oil and add the chopped garlic and onion.
When the garlic begins to change colour add the bacon cut into small squares.
When the fat begins to melt from the bacon add the tin of tomatoes and the oregano
After 5 minutes, add the drained mushrooms.
After 15 minutes on a low heat add the well-drained and flaked tuna. (During this 15 mins, boil the water for the pasta)
Cook gently for another 8 minutes.
During this final 8 minutes, cook the pasta (dried pasta takes roughly 8 mins.
Drain the pasta, turn into a heated serving dish and stir in the mushroom sauce, mixing well.
You might think bacon and tuna together sound odd, but when it's cooked, the flavours all blend together very nicely!
I cook this at least once a week, and because there's only the two of us, we can really pig-out on it ... it's lovely, and uses pretty much everything you'd already have in the cupboard (except maybe the muzzies, which you could leave out if you wanted)
Try it, you'll never cook another pasta dish ... Naz x

Heat a little oil and fry up 2 chopped up chicken breasts.
When they are browned, add some mushrooms, leeks, a chicken stock cube and a glass of white wine.
Heat until it is simmering and then add a small carton of cream and 150g cooked pasta.
Sorry i can't give you quantities, its just something i made up myself so its really just trial and error but it's v tasty!

Simplest tasty pasta dish I know of is Tesco's fresh pasta fuselli, (cooks in about 3 mins), plus a jar of Bertolli tomato and basil sauce, heated and poured over the drained pasta. (Add 10% to 20% water to the sauce to stop it glooping like a volcanic mud pool as it heats - and the fuselli will soak it up more)
Has to be Rasta Pasta:
Cook the pasta (penne, spirali, whatever you want), then add sweetcorn, red and green peppers, tuna and some mayo.
I made it up after looking at the ingredients in the expensive little tubs they sell in supermarkets and it worked quite well.
Also, from the same idea, add bacon, mozarella, parmesan and any other cheese you like plus a bit of cream and some chicken perhaps.
