what mushrooms can i eat?

Selecting mushrooms to eat is definitely not a hobby for the careless or uninformed. Many mushrooms are deadly and many more are mildly poisonous. Identifying safe edible mushrooms is complex. Unless you are absolutely certain that a mushroom is safe to eat you are advised to stick to those that are sold in the shops.

There is a wealth of information available in books and on the net regarding identification of edible mushrooms, however, the subject is complex and it is so easy to make mistakes. The best way to learn what is safe is from someone who knows. In many areas of the country there are courses and field trips on this subject. I'm not sure but I think that they are run by The Wildlife Trust. Beware, mistakes are easily made with identification.

Any, but personally oid stick to non-poisonous ones. In fact, this week I 'ave been mostly eating non-poisonous mushrooms.
