I love the fact that you can eat breakfast, lunch or dinner at any time of the day, and that they allocate different seating sections in the larger cafs for each of these! French bread is delicious and I can't seem to mimic it here in the UK.
For breakfast it would simply be a tea or coffee, french bread and butter/jams. Lunch would be a baguette mixte (ham & cheese) and something more hearty would be a local casserole or steak; which is always popular with the locals with a glass of vin rouge!

There's a pub in Berkshire called The Pineapple, which only sells sandwiches. They have about 100 different choices of filling (with some pretty spectacular choices), and your choice of bread, plus either chips, soup or salad for about a fiver. The sandwiches are huge, the bread is always fresh, and it always fills like you're having a special treat.
