When I buy red seedless grapes in the supermarket, what variety are they likely to be? I know grape names from being a wine drinker but what varieties are on the shelves for eating? They never seem to say!

So we don't eat the grapes that we make wines from? How disappointing!
It would appear not Disco - I had no idea until I started looking for research for your question:)
Disco, if you think about it wine is made from the varieties best suited to that. Grapes for general eating just happen to be different varieties. Lots of info here
