I tried it and found it incredibly boring. I lost a stone in a month (too much too soon really) but had to give it up due to be constantly constipated.

A sensible eating plan....cutting out the junk food, bad carbs and sugar combined with sensible excercise should see you lose weight.
Lasted about 5 days. Had no energy and felt tired and when I get tired I turn into an angry spitting harridan.
Had to stop for the sake of my then relationship.

It's incredibly unhealthy and although it worked like a dream for some friends of mine, they just put the weight back on over the following six months.

I'd go with a healthy balanced diet.
Hi Lakeslass!

I tried it a couple of years ago and lost 10lbs in a week. I've never felt so bad in all my life!

If I knelt down, I couldn't get back up again; I was so weak. Just thinking of the food after the first four days made me gag. I think I put the 10lbs on again just as quickly as they came off, when I finished it too.

I really wouldn't recommend it at all. I did lose 2.5 stone last year though, just through eating around 1200 calories per day.

Hope this helps. Good luck! xxx
Lost half a stone in a fortnight on their starter diet and was so pleased I stupidly thought I would carry on for another fortnight. Bad idea. I had joint pains and generally felt 'not right'. OK I suppose for a quick loss if you need to get into a favourite dress for a special occasion, but for the long term - no way - and everyone I knew who had lost weight on it gained it back and more - myself included.

Best diet ever - I lost over 3 stone in just a few months! You have to do it properly though - absolutely no room for cheating. I never felt better either - it evened out my hormones immediately and people kept commenting on my hair and skin (ie how good it looked) Never got stomach aches or indigestion either. I was recommended it by a consultant (who said she recommends it to lots of patients) and my doctor thinks its fantastic too!
I have never eaten so much veg as I have on this diet and all the rest of the food (meat, fish, cheese, eggs etc) is completely unprocessed - how can that be bad??
I say try it (but you definately have to do it properly - its not something you can do half-heartedly)

Different stokes for different folks! What works for some, doesn't suit others. I've tried everything from the banana diet to the low-carb but then I should have listened to my mother! I learned.
My Mother always said, everything in moderation, so when I feel too big for my clothes, I keep eating normally, my usual, but HALF the amount! Works every time and I never miss any food that, by rights, I shouldn't be eating. Doesn't need any will power, calorie counting, or total mental absorbsion about FOOD - just eat slower, chew longer and halve the intake. You can go full serve now and again - eg; when eating at a friend's dinner party. Choose wisely at a Restaurant and you won't have to leave half!
Good luck - don't be miserable because of food!
I tried the atkins diet a few years ago. It didn't work for me. Did it for a month but felt too sick in the end so had to come off it. If you are ar least 3 stone overweight then i advise you to go on a diet called Lighterlife. I finished the diet last November and i lost 5 stones in just over 5 months. Go to www.lighterlife.com. Give them a call and they will tell you where your nearest group is. You go for an introduction meeting and watch a video of what the diet is about. You can ask the counsellor any questions you have about the diet and then you can go away and decide if the diets for you or not. For me, it's the best thing ive ever done.
