Coffee with banana??

Looked like a take-away coffee with the lid on but had a banana sticking out of the top. Seen on a London tube train. Please can someone put this country cousin out of misery and explain all ...........

Perhaps they were just trying to transport their banana on the Tube, and couldn't think of a better way to do it than placing it inside an empty cup for a few minutes. I once carried a banana inside of my backpack (rucksack), and it got smushed and covered everything else with mashed banana. Next time I might try the coffee cup thing! ...If a banana was actually placed in hot coffee, the banana would surely melt!
