In a salad - in a stir fry - in soup - I don't think there is a great way to make them last - sorry:)
No, too much water in them. Even in the fridge they only stay fresh for a few days...
Freeze them. See how
crikey, seems a bit OTT. unless you have kilos of the things, i'd suggest that freezing as per that method would be more energy and resource intensive than chucking them away and buying new ones.

Frozen they tend to go really soggo. You can keep them in the fridge for a few days in plain old water, just change the water every day or it goes a bit whiffy.
