What are your favourite sweets?
16 Answers
We're having big bowls of sweets as table centre pieces for our wedding. Want something different for each table. We're having one table of oldies so they'll be having the liquorice allsorts or something easy to chew on! After some ideas for the other tables. Want something that will bring back memories! What were your favourite sweets as a child?

How about jelly babies for the young people, love hearts for the other people that are in love, humbugs for ther grumpy people, those ones that look like money nuts or peaut brittle for the crazy people. Mint imperils for the wealthy people (minted).
Glad you like the idea! I love sweets and I know how silly adults get about sweets so thought it would be a nice touch! We're planning on naming each table by the sweets in the bowls so a mixture of all will not work unfortunately. It will also give people the opportunity to mingle if they prefer the sweets on another table!
Keep your ideas/suggestions coming. We will select the best of the bunch! Particularly like janetsflowers theory behind which sweets for which tables!

Jelly beans are my faves by a country mile but if you're going back in time, pear drops, cola cubes, rhubarb and custards, pineapple chunks etc

That's a great idea, I'm a oldie and I LOVE sweets of all varieties, but beware you dont offend the grumpy ones by putting just soft sweets on the table (some of us still have our own teeth) a few sweets I like are : Parma Violets, Sweet Peanuts, Bulls Eyes and Blue Bird Toffees (mixed),you should go to a great site for some more help www.aquaterof.co.uk they have all sorts of sweets old and new, and good luck with your wedding and I hope you have a wonderful life together.
