Why do hens have eggs everyday?
are they all baby chickens? if not how do they become baby chicks?

They become chicks when the egg is fertilised. It takes a male and a female to make a baby so if the hen is on its own, the eggs produced are just eggs
hens have an egg every day until the winter months when they slow down and stop laying for about 3-4 months. If you have a lot of hens they will slow down at a different rate so you might get the odd egg from time to time over winter, a hen will get broody for 3 weeks-ish even if you dont have a ******* and will sit on a nest and make a weird noise and stop laying eggs during this time, we used to get fertile eggs from next door's farm for her to sit on so at least she was doing something useful during this time! its been years since i kept hens, but i can remeber that much!
