For someone who is nearly blind and is afraid of scalding themselves when boiling an egg, is there any kind of equipment such as an egg ring or something into which the egg can be placed securely with a handle outside pan and if so, where can one be bought?

You can buy things that go in the microwave that boil eggs. Think they're available from betterware catalogues. Hope thats helpful.
