Sports mixtures

I love them and my absolute fave used to be the black one, now, they've gone and replaced them with an insipid blackcurrant sweet.
Does anybody know why, and do you miss the old one ?

I had the exact conversation this morning regarding Midget Gems they have taken the black ones out and but blackcurrent in what is that all about. However, Asda (smartprice) midget gems still have the black ones in them.

Don't know if they do sports mixture I will check next time I am in.

Just this second eaten a black asda smartprice midget gem!!!! It was pants. Noting like the original black sports mixture. They are too soft.xx

I liked the original black ones also - but could never quite fathom out what flavour they were supposed to be ? Liquorice ? They were nice when eaten at the same time as a fruity flavoured one, the combination of sweet and slightly strong flavour was a good blend IMHO.

Thanks for your replies, and you have a rant JulieB, I'm right there with you ( I sent a post saying this straight after yours actually but it's not appeared ????? )

And whilst we're on the subject of sweety disappointments, why on earth have fruit gums gone to the wishy-washy consistency they have, when years ago they used to be firm and robust,and you could really get stuck into them.

Hi Peppy, seen as we are on the subject and I can have a rant, why have revels replaced nuts with raisins, this is not a good swop at all and I have stopped buying them and did a letter of complaint.

Yes roughquest, that's how I used to like them, a black one after a fruity one etc.

In that same way, that's how I eat Black Jacks and Fruit Salads. It just works doesn't it ??

I didn't know they had, this is going from bad to worse, Mr.P will be beside himself when I tell him. He is a revel-lover and has a raisin phobia !!
To save a mardy strop I think I'll just pick the raisiny ones out. before I give them to him : - )))

Lions dont do them anymore !!
maynards or some other company bought them. i was also waiting for the changes to kick in. The black ones tasted like doctor pepper and if you look on a tin it will tell you what the taste is. also could this be a bluff so we all complain......and they get noticed ?

Didn't know that diode dug, that would explain it then.
They make wine gums don't they, so why would you buy out a company and turn one of their successful lines into a pale imitation of one you already have ?

Might just stick to floral gums, now THERE'S a sweetie !!
