Does putting good quality dark chocolate in to a chilli really make a difference?

I have never done it and fail to see how it can improve?

Does anybody swear by it?

Ive had it and couldnt really taste the difference
My friend did an anthony worrell thompson recipe with dark chocolate in it and it was gorgeous! Really tasted different, but we werent sure how!
my husband had chocolate chicken once, in a mexican restaurant, which he said was very nice, but i've never added it to chilli. i think it was cocoa powder that was used, rather than sweetened chocolate.
to understand chocolate in chilli, you must first understand chilli... ie the country and their resourses,
oh...saw it on telly today...a couple of weird chilli eating blokes put sum in theirs....
Mexicans are are famous for making these dishes. Here you will find a great recipe. Enjoy!
