there are cheese-less pizza. maybe they misunderstood your order?

when you observed your pizza had no cheese did you inform them of their mistake and told them that you wanted cheese?
did you get a free pie then? :-)

well, i know you can get cheeseless pizza, but wasn't sure if i had ordered one or not... it didn't seem like something i'd do, being something of a cheese fiend, but i hadn't really paid attention whilst ordering.

but i came home and checked their online menu, and there was definately meant to be cheese on it!!
Haha
I'm not sure how you define 'the worst mistake ever' where food service is concerned. Here's a few things I can remember:

1. The restaurant, in Brighton, where the custard on my pudding came with a sliced green bean in it ;

2. The (obviously new) silver service waitress, in a posh restaurant, who took great care to serve me from the correct side. She then struggled valiantly to lift the massive Dover sole from her platter, using a fish slice, without it breaking up. She carefully slid it onto my 'plate'. It was only at this point that she realised that the design on the table mats was the same as the design on the plate (which she'd forgotten to bring)! i.e. one beautifully cooked Dover sole was now sitting on the table mat ;-)

3. One Sunday lunchtime, I was working behind the bar in a pub, when a couple came in and asked if they could have lunch. I said that I thought our restaurant was fully booked but I'd check with the kitchen. I returned to advise them that we could only serve them with sandwiches. They said it would be fine, and ordered two cheese sandwiches.

About half an hour later, they asked when they'd get them. The boss, in the kitchen, said that they wouldn't be long.

Another half an hour went by before the same question was met with the same response.

Half an hour after that, the boss said "We've got no butter for those sandwiches. Can you drive to the nearest shop and get some, please?". I had to get several customers to move their cars, so I could get mine out of the car park but I eventually returned with the butter.

Another long wait occurred, before the landlord said, "We've got no bread. Would you mind . . .?" After another struggle to get out of the car park, I fetched the bread.

Ages later, the landlord said "You'll have to go to the shop again. We've got no cheese!". The customers ordered their
. . . sandwiches at 12.15pm. They were served with them at 4.30pm!!

Ah, all this talk of mistakes has reminded me of another one! I was having a pub lunch one afternoon, and in amongst my meal I found one deep fried rubber band... Delicious...
At age 18 i went to Canada with girlfriend now other half.
Taken by her family to posh rest, the stupid person put the full bowl of soup right where it hurts, she asked am i okay, and i told her i often trave this far to have soup poured all over me ! do you think i'm okay !

As i started to wipe my front she asked me where i was from "gosforth i said" Oh i'm from Cramlinton.
Cramlington 2-3 miles away, Oh forget the soup how are you etc etc....:-)

Its also very odd that Citys in england want to bash each other up over footy etc, but when you away from england they want to buy you a pint and chat, Umm.
this isnt a mistake as such, but its something that i did many years ago while working in an office restaurant..

part of my job was to cook fresh omelettes as and when ordered.
one man used to come in every day and ask for an egg omelette. (a plain one)
one day, knowing he could take a joke, he got what he literally ordered.
i put several slices of hard boiled egg on top of the cooked omelette, just as i was about to serve it..

one day, i decided to make some mousse for a change on the dessert menu.
i dont know what went wrong, but they decided to seperate while chilling. i still served them and the customers loved them. i had to keep on making them, hoping they would seperate again!!!

In Italy you can order a pizza with or without certain toppings. Of course if the menu includes a description of the toppings then they must be present. The customer may then specifiy the ommission of a certain ingredient.
You may order pizzas without tamatoe or cheese or certain spices or even decide your toppings from the ingredients present on other pizzas and personalise as you wish.
