When shopping for food what is type of food i should be buying as I have Diabetes. Are there any labels i should be watching out for or buying? Do you know any web sites with recipes especially for people with diabetes? Help much appreciated.

As I'm only in the lower range of the disease, and it's quite normal for older people (I'm 66) to become dibetic, I don't have any special food. Having said that, I've never eaten convenience foods and would advise you to avoid them, too.

Please ask your doctor for proper advice - he may refer you to a nutritionist or dietician to help you eat the right food for you.

Avoid carbohydrates and the hidden sugars in such things as Crisps, pastries, cereal.
Porridge is very good too.
As long as you have a healthy balance - you shouldn't really be buying special foods. Especially avoid the diabetic range at Boots - full of Fat & Sweetners that are harmful to the digestive system. Avoid particularly sugary foods and also try to avoid too much pasta/potatos.

Who said avoid carbohydrates? Being as our diet is or should be 'Sugar Free' carbohydrates are our energy source.
Cereals are OK (the right ones) , Shredded Wheat = OK Puffed Wheat = OK, Ready-Brek = OK,
