Coca-Cola is the world's biggest soft drinks company, with sales worth over 100 billion. Sales have apparently gone up since the US attacks as people go into eat mode. PepsiCo is the biggest rival and it's worth at least 20 billion, especially after the acquisition of Quaker Oats and the highly-prized Gatorade drink. Cadbury Schweppes, one of the biggest soft drinks companies in the UK, has seen a 10 per cent rise in sales since 2000. They are going from strength to strength in US with the aggressive marketing of Snapple, Dr Pepper and 7UP. The French drinks company Pernod Ricard is in talks to sell Orangina - the fizzy orange drink - possibly to Coca-Cola. I hope this helps. The Coca-Cola press office is on 020 8237 3000.
