To my knowledge the first manufactured cereal was Kellogs Cornflakes Try logging on to thier web site and asking for confirmation
I would guess that before Kellog invented the cornflake that oats (either as porridge or muesli were consumed, especially in more temperate climates where corn farming was more difficult.
