I am off for a curry.
as you may know I love my food but rarely attend curry houses and admittedly do not know much about Asian food. I usually go for a mutton based bhuna, boiled rice and a nan bread with more mutton sliced in the middle.
Any ideas to something new?
Not too hot but not too mild. Something with some punch but not a Tyson knock out, if you know what I mean.

Personally I think an ex-army man should not wuss about with kormas but should dig deep and go for a vindaloo, or a madras if you are too frightened. As a side dish, try bombay potato phall hot, and vegetable rice. For drinkies, only Bangla will do.

I agree with happyjo, dupiaza is one of my favourite's too.
Rogan josh, jalfrezi and madras are good standard curries too.
Dont limit yourself to things with a specific heat range though or you'll miss some of the best curries! Also making it too hot will impare your sense of taste (which would only be advisable if the restaurant serves bland food). Just tell them how hot you want it and they'll adjust it for you, simple.
