Is there only me that indulges in this fantastic winter warmer. Through the winter when I was a nipper, whenever my mum was cooking the Sunday roast, she would give us a big mug of oxo and cabbage water. Am I the only person to have enjoyed this?

Cabbage water with pepper for me. They way mother boiled the cabbage to a very sorry end, all the goodness must have been in that water and not in the slurry on plate.

I still drink the cabbage water.
we ate loads of cabbage in our house and always had plenty,of cabbage water left over.my dad would always give me loads of it and always say, drink that its good for spots i must of been the spottiest girl in class .
yes, me too. just cabbage water though, not with oxo in. although i used to take a small flask to school with hot oxo in. i really like making gravy with cabbage water, has a taste all of its own.
Yes my mum gave us the cabbage water and said it was good for your skin, or good for having a clearout later(if you know what I mean!) I loved it though and still drink it to this day. I go mental if hubby strains the veg and forgets to put a mug in the sink to catch it.
I always use the cabbage water to make gravy , tastes a lot better.
its always a battle of wills if i drink it or make gravy with it - keep it to myself or share it!!
I make a delicious vegatable soup, using the cabbage water as a stock. it is ideal for anyone who is counting the calories as there is NO fat but lots of goodness!
