Defrosting potatoes

I have some of those M+S chopped potatoes with shallot butter that cook in the oven in 20mins or half an hour (can't remember which) that I was going to use for the dinner tonight

However I froze them when i bought them and it says on the packet to defrost before use, and i forgot to lift them out of the freezer.

Would it be ok to just put them in the oven for longer? Or for a while at a lower temperature to defrost them?

better to defrost at low temp first (or m/wave?)
trouble with extebding time, is that outside will overcook , while inside is still undercooked

I was thinking that but if i put them in at a very low temperature for a while and then turned it up would that still not work?
yep, i'd put them on low for a while and then turn it up. it's not meat, it's only potatoes. i regularly put things like that directly into the oven rather than defrosting first.
Be easier to make your own and much better for you.

I always look at the back and put the ingredience together.

Just par boil pots (not 4 long) add a little oil or butter with shallots in a roasting dish and cook on 200C.
